Woody Biog
From BCDS
Woody was my first Dalmatian, and with endless energy as a puppy confirmed my suspicions that it was a breed I was right to wait until I had plenty of time for! He was taught how to run under the carriage by my friend and mentor John Wilmot, who laid the foundations of obedience with the carriage. In 2005 he achieved the title of Carriage Dog Champion and has demonstrated at numerous displays including the CLA Game Fair where he and Abbie stayed with the carriage amidst numerous distractions including the hunt coming past! He has now been taught how to bark and “see off” a highway man to demonstrate the Dalmatian's traditional role. Woody loves obedience work, particularly scent, and has distinguished himself with good placings at the obedience competitions he has entered. As a young dog he was shown and was Reserve Best Utility dog at the first open show we attended, where there was a show entry of 1000 dogs. As well as a working carriage dog, Woody is a much loved family pet, now in semi-retirement, but still loves nothing better than being under the axle...or stealing food from the kitchen counter!
