Travis Biog
From BCDS
Travis is my stunning 7 year old liver boy. He was my first Dalmatian an gave me an interesting insight into the breed, and I now have 4 living at home with me and co-own a further 3 with Rebecca Croft. In his first 18 months he had a successful show career, gaining many first places at championship level. However, he became unhappy in the show ring and needed a new venture. We tried agility, but to no avail. He was more interested in sniffing each jump! So we gave obedience a go. Travis really enjoys this, he may not be the best, but he loves the time we spend together when training. Then Rebecca and I found the Carriage Dog Trials. Before my first Trail in May 2006 I thought I’d better learn how to ride a horse, and I’d had just 3 lessons when I met my hire horse. Poor Trav was at an even worse advantage, he’d never seen a horse before! Despite the odds against us, we passed our Road Dog Bronze, but I knew he could do so much better. In November 2006, Rebecca and my partner Mathew gave me Casper. I don’t think Trav could believe it when the training stepped up a gear, but he enjoys his hacks out. The Yorkshire Carriage Dog Trails were a momentous occasion for me. It was the first time I could show Casper off and the first time that I could see if the training with Trav had worked. Unfortunately Casper decided to be a little naughty on the day, but Travis did really well and I was so proud that he gained 2nd place in his class.
