Shadow after a training session with John Wilmott's carriage

Shadow is our pride & joy, a wonderful mum and excellent worker she is a pleasure to share our lives with. She comes from a working, and show line of many generations. When we heard of the society I knew we had to be a part of it! She started training as a pup alongside our little boy's pram, and then the bike and worked our way up to a horse. After one ride out on Donna's horse we were hooked! As such we took her to training classes to brush up on our distance work and she passed her Bronze, Silver & Gold Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards with ease in preperation for the 2007 Yorkshire trials. As such she was asked to join the Display team who demonstrate Good citizen Obedience in the main ring at Crufts which was a great honour! She did many local shows in a short time and was in the local press flying the flag for the society on numerous ocasions! She did amazingly at Yorkshire, Qualified as a Bronze Road Dog & came 5th as well which we are so proud of. She also competed at the Nationals 2007 in the Bronze Road dog class with some exellent scores. Thanks to John Wilmott for loaning us a ride and allowing us out with the carriage for practice (she Loved going to Johns too!). Joining the BCDS has been invaluable to us. It seemed like it would be such easy task to obtain a ride but turned out to be like mission impossible! Without the kindness of everyone helping us we may well have been running alonside with a hobbyhorse! Shadow is handled by Jules Burton and lives at home in Lancashire with her daughter Flame, their two boys, Julies Husband Anthony, Son Sebastian, and Daughter Amelia.

We lost Shadow in a Tragic accident not long after the Nationals in 2007. She always excelled in whatever she did. She learnt immediately from her experiences and grew better from each encounter good or bad, took Everythign in her stride with a waggy tail and a smile. She would have been one of the best, she had Much more to give and was still teaching us how good she was. She enjoyed the trials immensly. All your help made it possible for us, her enjoyment of the trials will always be Very special to us.
