Brio
From BCDS
Brio had her first experience of horses at the Training Weekend in Sussex in Spring 2006. We both enjoyed it so much that I bought a mountain bike, and began to train her in the local Forestry Commission land to develop control and build up her steady gait.
Brio attended a further Training Day in Kent, where she was re-acquainted with the principles of carriage training, and a month later she gained her Coaching Certificate (July 2007). It was the first time she had worked seriously with a horse and carriage, but instinct came to the fore. She gained her Bronze title in 2008.
Brio attends weekly obedience classes run by an APDT trainer. She also acts as the bomb-proof adult in the Puppy Socialisation class, gently teaching the pushier puppies some canine manners!
Stephanie Ely's Brio competed for the first time in 2007 to gain her Coaching Certificate (obedience without endurance) and in 2008 went on to qualify as a Bronze Carriage Dog. In 2009 she had less luck and failed to pass her bronze test the second time round, but Stephanie and brio still had a lovely drive out ont he course with Sophy White and her Haflinger Harry.
